I’ve heard that there are several billionaires and billionaire family businesses all across Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc. that no one has ever heard of. I’ve heard Forbes magazine only lists billionaires that are known, but there remains a lot of billionaires all over the world that are unknown and that people have never heard of. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? Or is every billionaire accounted for and listed on Forbes Magazine?

Yes ,but not many.I know a few shadowy men like this who prefer to stay under the radar so they can buy rare stolen art and jewels!

Every year Forbes updates a complete list of billionaires around the world,but what if some billionaire does not want to be in that list.
Lets say that some billionaire does not want to be famous or is afraid that he will get kidnapped,can he tell Forbes not to put his name on the list?

There are ways to hide money and put it in tax free areas, ie charity foundations. Also, forbes does not get the exact number as they do not have the specific amount of assets and liabilities that compile a net worth. This would be a great problem to have and I’m sure that there are many billionaires that are not on the list because of the reasons you said.

Steve Ballmer has a net worth of $11 billion and Eric Schmidt has a net worth of $4 billion. They both become billionaires as employees of big companies (ballmer as the CEO of Microsoft and Schmidt as CEO of Google). What I don’t get is why don’t they hire some hotshot business school graduate ot run the show while they retire and live wealthily ever after?

Why would you? Would you trust someone else with your future? Did they get that rich by sitting on their asses? Look at it this way. Most of their wealth is tied to stocks and if some so-called hotshot came in and caused the value of their stock to drop and they lost their shirts, who could they blame for being broke? Contrary to popular belief, being rich doesn’t make your problems go away; just makes them more expensive. Just look at Bernie Madoff’s investors.
