Where on the web do I look for old European coin values?

May 26, 2010 - 12:36 pm 3 Comments

I have coins from the 50’s, mostly, from Germany, France, Italy & Switzerland, in mint condition. Are they worth anything & where would I go to find out? I also have one mint condition 20 Deutsche Marks paper bill from the same time. Help me out on this – thanks!

I can lead you to at least two countries:

1) Germany:
Coins : http://sammler.com/muenzdb/index_english.html (use the left side menu)
Notes: http://sammler.com/coins/germanbanknotes_values.htm

2) Switzerland:
Coins: http://www.zumbo.ch/coins/ch/

You also need to have basic knowledge on coin grading, and here’s a site to put you on the right track:

go to ebay and see what the coins are going for you will find several of the same but in different conditions, it will give you a good idea of what they are worth, that is what we do.
